Its Game Day!!

How excited is Klipper nation to get the season going? It should be a great year and likely a good one on the ice for the Kindersley Klippers. The arena re opening will also add alot of excitement to the season.

The Klippers start the season with four straight road games , and tonight they battle Battlefords. Larry Wintoneak has stressed to me all pre season long , how important it is to win on the road. Well the Klippers have 2 tough ones back to back , and if they can win both , that will be a huge confident booster.

We will tee up the Battlefords game in a second but first here are your 20010-2011 Team Captains

C-Andrew Dommett
A-Kurt Leehahl
A-Braden Adamyk
A-Johnathan Sonntag

Alright so there is 7 d and 16 forwards still on the roster, meaning we will see a different bottom 6 up front likely in both games this weekend.

Should also note that there are some rumblings of a few WHL players returning or coming to the Klippers in the next few weeks. One clearly is Braeden Johnson who is fighting to crack a spot with the Saskatoon Blades.

So yesterday I met with Larry , and we had a pretty good chat. You can how excited he is to get the season going.

You can catch that interview tonight during the broadcast.

Since we are on the broadcast once again here is how you can listen tonight...
IMPORTANT INFO ON HOW TO LISTEN TO THE BROADCAST!!!

I know last year there were some issues but it appears everything is good to go.
To listen you have to go to the http://www.klippershockey.com/  then click listen live in the top left corner , it is the first tab on the side.

Then you are directed to a page with all the click here for the teams broadcasts. Clearly there you click Kindersleys , and then a windows media player window will pop up , or whatever you use on your computer. It will likely say error until the start of pre game so don't worry if it doesn't work right now.

Also you can of course catch the game live on the radio at 1330 or 1210 Classic hits AM.
On Sundays game in Laronge we will be broadcasting pregame starting at 4:45. Josh Lewis will join me on the color commentary from the Kindersley Clarion.

Onto some GAME TIDBITS

Battlefords will start goalie Alex Sirard in net tonight after acquiring him via trade yesterday. Birch is still suspended one game and Hilldebrand is still nursing a knee injury with no word on when he will be back.

Battlefords also acquired 3 new defensemen to bolster there top 6 after losing a bunch of vets to graduation. 2 of the 3 new D will likely suit up tonight.

We have all talked about the Klippers number one line , but Battlefords has a pretty good first line themseleves. These three skated all through camp and could be the number one line tonight ...

Brett Miller - Blake Tatchell - Colin Phaneuf

Both the Klippers and Battlefords number one lines could and likely will all finish in top 15 in scoring this season.

The stars have a solid mix of vets returning but also have a solid crop of young and impressive rookies that are looking to make their mark in the SJHL.

In terms of the teams rivalry , I expect to see an intense game tonight. I know the rivalry has not been as good as it once was , but tonight both teams are considered contenders , they both have a sour taste in their mouths from last season , and we should see one hell of a game tonight.

Other news and notes , David Haaf will be in the lineup tonight for the Klippers. The newly acquired 18 year old dman , has been impressing alot of his teamates and aswell as coach Larry. Very excited to see what he brings to the blueline.

We are staying in PA tonight before heading to La Ronge on Sunday.

Thats all I got for now , if your not at the rink tonight , make sure to listen to the broadcast.
More to come upon arrival at the arena. Check back around 6
