Big win on the road for the Klippers. Alot of players stepped it up tonight with all the players out of the lineup.
Here are some short game note tidbits.
- For only dressing 5 dmen , they did not look tired. Larry`s conditoning showed tonight. All 5 D Men looked great out there.
- Beau Taylor scored up front on the first line. Overall he did pretty good. He had a ton of chances , probably could of had a hatty.
- Scott Hellyer had a great bounce back game after a tough one in La Ronge, made some huge saves in traffic in the third period.
- Ryan Benn scored the game winner. I talked about players steping up and he was one of them. It was his first game of the season and he made the most of it.
- Sean Flanagan was great all night. I dont think I seen him make a mistake all night.
- Taylor Duzan was the best player on the ice tonight. He had 2 goals but was huge all game. On the penalty kill , he was fantasic alongside Jordan Hoffman. These two basically held the play in the Mellville zone for the most part on the PK.
- On Hoffman , he was great as well. Exceptional on the draw to, I dont think he lost a faceoff all night
- Overall the Klippers PK was great , which is a good sign since they struggled on the PK to start the year.
- Riley Long made his SJHL debut tonight. He didnt get a ton of action due to 13 fwds dressed. I thought he played good , and didnt look out of place.
- Johnny Calkins and Braden Adamyk played well out there. You could tell it was an emotional one for them without there good friend and line mate.
- Speaking of Adamyk , he is now leading the SJHL in points.
- Jeff Bartel , this kid continues to impress me every game. Looks more and more comfortable each game.
- Melville has alot of young talent, they should be one of the teams to beat in the SJHL the next few years. It is clearly a rebuilding year this season.
- On tomorows game I have talked to alot of the vets, and they are pumped to play Yorkton tommorow and get revenge for last seasons playoff loss.
- As for Andrew Dommett, Calkins informed the boys that he has returned home from the hospital. That is great news.
Thats it for tonight , I will have more tommorow when I post up some interviews
