Edited After 2 Periods

First Period Summary

Klippers 2 - Stars 1

1. Taylor - from Calkins
2. Gourley - from King
3.Tatchell - from C. Neufeld

Wow what a first period for the Klippers. Not sure if they were riding the home atmospher but in my mind that was the best period of hockey they played all season so far.

Johnny Calkins had a great first period. He was setting up all kinds of nifty plays all period. He has one apple but could have 4 at this point.

Klippers had the majority of chances that period and a ton of odd man rushes. They should of capitalized a few more times, but overall a great start to this one.

Other note - Jeff Bartel got hit in the face with a puck , but he seems to be ok.

The Klippers have a powerplay heading into the second.

Second Period

Score

4-1

3. Sonntag - Calkins
4. Adamyk - King and Sonntag

Shots after 2 , 27 - 22

Well another solid period from the Klippers. Early on in the second Scott Hellyer was at his best making a few key saves that gave the momentum back to the Klippers.

There powerplay looks great tonight,  they are moving the puck very well , and creating all kinds of chances.

Jeff Bartel is back in the game after a puck in the face in the first period

Also, Sanfred King and Tony Oak got in a scrap after a crosscheck from Oak. Not much of a fight but a few solid punches landed from both parties.

The Klippers scored with literally one second left in the 2nd period. Sonntag worked it over to Kinger who, fired one from the point that was deflected beautifully in front by Adamyk as time was just about to expire.

That goal should give the Klippers all kinds of momentum heading into the third.

Check back after the game.
