Saturday Game Recap And Notes

Sorry about not posting yesterday , I was pretty lazy after the long 9 hour bus ride home and basically watched football all day.

On to the game

Overall it was a good game for the Klippers if you take out the fact that they could not capitalize. The Klippers should of been heading back home for Wednesdays game with a 7-3 record. They outplayed the Bombers in every aspect of the game except the scoring department , which is the most important aspect of the game.

The final minute saw the Klippers have 2 great chances , firstly a 3-1 opportunity with Calkins , Sonntag and Hoffman, that was broken up by Korchinski the Bombers dman. Secondly , Braeden Adamyk turned on the burners and blew buy a Flin Flon dman, he was in the clear , had the goalie beat pulling the puck on to his back hand , but could not find mesh with the puck. He did though cash himself into the net as he went crashing in taking the net off its mornings. Great play by Ady but unfortunately the Klippers didn't score.

After the game things almost got pretty ugly. Johnathan Sonntag was in the middle of it for the Klippers as 6 or 7 Bombers were shoving him around. It look like one face shot was landed, and Sonny got his bucket knocked off. After that all the players were on the ice in a scrum. A few wrestling grapples broke out but things quickly ended. Things could of got ugly as the fans booed the Klippers off the ice.

That crowd was sure rowdy, they love the Bombers and hate every other team in the SJHL. Some of the stuff they were saying was un called for , but what can you do. It must of been hard for the players to hear those things after a tough loss.

A few other game Notes....

- Jordon Hoffman after going 8 games without a goal , now has scored in back to back games for the Klippers. Its great to see Jordon hit the goal sheet, he is one of the hardest working players on the ice and does so many things well for the Klippers. The Klippers have been scoring a ton of goals , and with Hoffman going now they will score a lot more goals.

- Riley Down played back to back games and I was very impressed with his play. Hes a big pressence on the back end and looks very solid. He should get better and better as the games come.

- Justin McDonald has started 3 straight games. Both this weekend becasue of Scotty Hellyer battling the flu. Scotty was really starting to come into form, so hopefully he gets better soon. As for Mac , he looked solid in all 3 starts. The future in net for the Klippers looks very bright.

- D Jay McGrath went 2 games this weekend without any points. He did play solid though and I think he will find his scoring touch soon. Its always tough to jump into a new team especially a totally different league going from the WHL to the SJHL.

- The Klippers PK was great this weekend. Hopefully this continues as they went 10 for 11 in 2 games.

- Sanfred King continued his point streak which now spans to 7 games.

In other news the Klippers may make a few releases this week. Larry eluded that they have to make a few decisions. I have no idea which way Larry will go with this, it will be a few tough decisions thats forsure.
