Klippers Send Duzan To The Humboldt Broncos

Just got word of the deal around 7:30 PM. Duzan has been subject to trade rumors ever since he sat out Monday nights game against Estevan. With the roster cut down deadline looming the Klippers officially shipped him off to Humboldt. Seeing Duzan go was something I was hoping wouldn't happen. He is one of the most exciting players I have ever seen play the game of hockey and not seeing him in a Klipper uniform will be tough for alot of Kindersley fans moving forward. Unfortunately for Kindersley fans, with the focus on rebuilding for the future this move was necessary. I know Duzan did not want to leave Kindersley but he now gets to showcase his skills on Junior A's biggest stage with the Humboldt Broncos at the Royal Bank Cup.

In terms of who the Klippers get back in the deal, they receive 1995 born prospect Matt McLeod and future considerations. He is currently playing with the Saskatoon Blazers. He has 5 goals and 6 assists in 20 games this season. In terms of the futures, that of course at the moment is not known but one could assume the futures will be significant. More to come shortly

  1. Good luck Duzzy you deserve to finish your junior career on the big stage, 5'6" plays like 6'5".
The skinny on McLeod, one of the fastest skater in midget hockey, already on the radar of the NCAA.

  3. Good luck Duzan! You deserve to be on a team where you're treated right and appreciated. You are going to be missed... we just lost the last one who really knew what heart and soul of Klipper hockey was all about... I'll be cheerin' for you (and Hoffman and Mysiorek)!!!

And Klipperman - good for you! Maybe you should be a scout, apparently they [the Klippers] need one.

  4. Wow! With those last three guys traded I feel almost as shocked and disappointed as when they let Larry go. Another sad day for Klipper hockey. All the best Duzan!

  6. Glad to see the three boys given a great chance to make it all the way. Good luck Duzie, Jordon and Jesse. It was great to have you here. We will be watching your careers for their exciting finishes. I also hope these moves give you the chances you all deserve to move on to college.

  7. Hey Barry, do you have any idea how much a kid like Taylor Wasden cares about this team? Every night he plays with different line mates, doesn't get top six minutes, will do whatever is asked of him, plays physical and will drop em if needed AND he wants to be a Klipper. He had a chance to move on but wanted to stay in Kindersley. I don't think all the heart and soul has left town!

  8. To the 12:38 poster. Yes, sad to see Duzzy go but the return might help this team next year, only time will tell.

If you're still not over the Larry thing we can probably get you some help! What is sad is that your glass seems to be always half empty!

  10. I think Wasden should be wearing the "C" now. Not taking anything away from the other three as they want to continue their careers next year, Wasden will probably not move on after this year.

  14. Can't help but wonder if it was Rockie's plan all along to get rid of any of the players who played with Larry?HMMM Something to think about.

  15. To the last poster, please, enough of the conspiracy theory! The trades were made for one reason only and that was to try and acquire young talent going forward. It happens every year at this time, the top 4-6 teams try to load up for playoff runs and the teams that give up their 20's look for good young talent in return!

The potential trading of these players would have been discussed at the beginning of the year in a "what if" conversation. As an organization you always have to be looking down the road to make sure your future is taking care of.
If Rockie was wanting to get rid of Larry's boys so bad why did he put the C and A's on these guys? HMMM something to think about.
