First of all just checked the page stats and cant believe I have over 10 000 views in just over a month of being up and running. That is crazy, when I made this blog I certainly did not expect that. Thanks to everyone for checking it out much appreciated.
Secondly bad news on the webcast tonight. We have yet to get in the audio piece yet so there will be no play by play with the web cast tonight. I thought for sure it would be in for this one , but hopfully Saturday it will be in. I cant wait to start calling the home games , but for now I have to wait and just stick to the away games. I am honored to be able to do the home games with the Klippers , since most SJHL teams do not do the home games at all, and to do it via webcast will be very cool.
I do believe that Melforts PxP guys are coming so you can likely listen online if you cant make it out the WCEC.
As for the game , not much I can say about Melfort as I have never seen them play in the SJHL . I'm not the kind of guy that likes to write about stuff I do not know about , so I am not gonna sit here and pretend to rattle off all this pre game info on the Mustangs. The obvious though is they have a strong team , and there goaltending has been very good so far this season. Charles Corsi had a strong game once again last night. Usually I would say they might go with the back up tonight , but the way the Klippers have been scoring I would say that is not a very good idea. I fully expect to see Corsi tonight. He was the goaltender of the week this past week and rightfully so. Corsi is 4-0-1 and has yet to lose in regulation. The Klippers need to fire a ton of shots and capitalize on the pp. There powerplay has been money at home to start the sesaon , and I fully expect that to continue. There is just to much fire power on that PP and having Kinger on the back end really adds another great dimension.
Scotty Hellyer will likely get the start for the Klippers. He has played very well the past two games. He has started every game so far this year and there is no reason not to start him tonight.
The bottom two lines could be a mixture of any 7 or 8 players. We have seen Larry switch things up every game so far this season and I expect to see Gerwing, Gourley or Long in the lineup tonight despite the onslaught of goals last game.
The key to the game is once again get off to the early start. That has been the trend for the Klippers both games this season at home as they have got on the board early in both games.
Hope to see ya out at the WCEC tonight , I may have updates during intermissions depending on how full the press box is. We dont have wireless up and running yet so only way to acess the laptop is in the press box.
Check back later for lineups.
