Tonight marks game 6 of a 6 game home stand that has been up to this point a very successful one for the Klippers. The Klippers have hosted a 3-1-1 record with their only regulation lose coming on the hands of the Estevan Bruins , due to their final second heroics.
Last game the Klippers received a huge boost getting their captain Andrew Dommett back and tonight he will get back into the action. After playing one game I am sure it was a bit tough for Dommett to get adjusted to the game atmosphere and now having a few days of practice can now get entirely focused and prepared for a game situation knowing exactly what the game will be like for him. I expect Dommett to get fully comfortable tonight and anticipate a big game tonight from Dommett and his running mates Calkins and Adamyk.
I mentioned after last game that the Klippers looked like a team that was really going to turn things around and chalk up a ton of wins. I do firmly believe that as there fwd line combo make up looks like the perfect matchs right now and there defense is really starting to look come into form. The one thing the Klippers still need to work on is discipline and staying out of the box. I am sure Larry Wintoneak is really stressing that heading into tonight's game as Humboldt's Power Play is deadly. Humboldt has proved on numerous times this season that they can score a ton of goals in a hockey game and it starts with their power play. The Humboldt Broncos have two of the top three SJHL point getter's in Justin Buzzeo ( 1st ) and Jeremy Boyer ( 3rd ) and the number two point getter from the back end in Josh Roach. Shutting down their big guns will clearly be a key focus in tonight's game.
A few things working in the Klippers advantage tonight is the fact that this does not appear to be the same team that was ranked first in Canada for three straight weeks earlier this season. The Broncos have really struggled of late losing 4 of their past 5 contests which is a bit of surprise. Things appeared to be coming easy for the Broncos early on this year and now that is not the case. Reading different reports on the Broncos it sounds like they aren't working hard enough to get back to the team they were early on in the year. I can't comment much more on what seems to be their problem at this point because I have yet to see them play this season.
Last night the Broncos apparently fell apart in the third frame on route to a 7-4 lose to the Battlefords Northstars. Andrew Bodnarchuk was in net for all 7 goals and with back to back games it leaves one to wonder if the Broncos will go with 18 year old Matt Hrynkiw in the pipes tonight.
On the Klippers side it is also unknown who will get the start tonight , but if I had to guess , I would say Alex Peck will get the start tonight after a solid performance against Weyburn. Peck has struggled with his confidence since arriving to Kindersley and tonight would be a huge game towards building his confidence with a solid outing against the leagues number one offense up to this point.
It will also be interesting to see who is out up front and on the back end for the Klippers. The Klippers have 8 dmen 14 fwds and 3 goalies. It might be the last chance for a few players to show what they got with the December first roster cut down deadline looming. This is a huge game for the Klippers with the upcoming 3 game road trip and 2 games in Weyburn for the SJHL showcase.
One thing is for certain , tonight's game has the make up of a great contest. I hope to see you out at the WCEC to cheer on the Klippers. If you can't make it out then be sure to catch tonight's webcast for play by play and live video. We will kick off a pre game show at 715. Here is the webcast link.

In other news , some very exciting news today in Kindersley as Clark Builders of Edmonton has been awarded the tender for the new multi use facility. It's a very exciting time in Kindersley right now. I had a chance to chat with Milt Walker and Mayor Wayne Foster this morning in studio talking about the news. I will post up an audio version of the story some time tomorrow morning.
