Hey guys , sorry about not getting a second or third period update in last night , I couldn't connect to the Internet for some reason at the rink.
Anyways here is my game review.
The Klippers 3 stars....
1.Sanfred King
2.Johnathan Sonntag
3.Jordan Hoffman
HM - Duzan and Calkins and Down
More on the stars in a bit
Final Score 7-5
Klippers goals : Gourley,Down,Mysiorek,King,Duzan,Dommett,Duzan(2nd)
Starting out the Klippers were a bit sloppy, Humboldt scored in the opening shift on somewhat of a lucky break , but a player snuck right by a Klippers Dman and walked in alone. The first peiod for the most part was a bit shaky for the Klippers. As shaky as they were in the first they still battled hard and went into the intermission with a 2-2 tie. Near the end of the first Sonntag made a rib crushing hit right in front of the Klippers bench. I believe that fired the boys up as they came out flying to start the second. Overall offensively the Klippers were great.
I also thought Hellyer was very good tonight. I know he let in five goals but he was left out to dry on a few occasions. The Klippers defense had a few lapses but most were just pre season lapses. I think once the season starts they will be able to get rid of those kinks. Other than that the Defense were making some big hits and probably the most impressive thing was the way the guys stuck up for their teammates. In the second period , Leedhal was ran from behind. Tabin didn't like this and took exception. He basically attacked the other guy , dropped the gloves and started pounding on him. Sure he got kicked out , but somebody had to do that. The boys were all really fired up after that aswell.
Gotta mention Flanagan in this as well , a scrum in sued late in the third period that saw him deliver a closeline from hell basically. Great to see Flanny fired up.
I thought that the best overall line tonight for the Klippers was Duzan , Hoffman and Mysiroek. I love the make up of this line. Duzan and Hoffman may be smaller guys , but they have no fear. They are always the first guys in the corner and they use their quickness and speed down low to avoid checks. This line was very good on the cycle. Mysiorek is the bigger guy on the line , but he compliments Duzan and Hoffman very well. They can all fly out there and are even more dangerous on the rush. These guys have stuck together all through camp and I expect them to be the second line to start the season. One final note on Mysioreks goal. What a play by Hoffman. He was working the boards in the right corner , fell down but still was able to corral the puck and basically fight off a defender as he got up and worked it back to the point, where Theil fired one that missed the net and came right out in front to Mysiorek on the doorstep to burry it.
The best player on the ice for the Klippers was Sanfred King. He was flying out there all game long. He registered three points and scored a beauty goal. King basically deked out the entire arena to score that goal. King was creating chances all night , he is strong on the puck , can skate , and has a great set of hands. I think this guy could score 30 plus goals this year, he has impressed me all camp long.
Should also note that Exner , popped his shoulder and could be out long term.I will try to find out more shortly. If he is out that's a huge loss for the Klippers.
Thats all I got for now. I will post up some post game interviews and more thoughts later today. For now I gotta get to watching my Bengals defeat the Patriots. I love the NFL , let the Cincy Air Show Begin!!
