Klippers Win Fourth Straight Games 3-1 In A Chilly Gull Lake Arena

The Klippers organization is moving forward and so should the fans. The players on this team are working hard and it has resulted in a four game win streak for the club. Lets talk about that and not the past.

For the first time this season the Klippers have put together four straight wins. The most impressive thing is that they have won three of those four on the road. It's no secret that the Klippers are great on home ice, but if they can continue to have success on the road then this team could really jump above the 500 mark.

On to last night’s game, we had quite the interesting setup in the broadcast booth. I talked in the rink guy to letting me set up right in the far left side of the rink right above the Notre Dame Hounds zone. Great view of the attacking zone, but tough to see the other side of the ice. The rink in Gull Lake was freezing but big thanks to Karla Calkins for borrowing me her warm mittens.

Onto the game :

It was Justin Macdonald's first start since October 22nd, and he was very good. It must of been tough for him to wait out the goalie battles, but he continued to work his ass off at practice and showed no signs of being rusty. The mac attack , made some very solid saves and made a big game saver in the second period. With that performance from Macdonald , the Klippers appear to be very confident in their goalie tandem moving forward.

On the other end of the ice, Russell Abbott was outstanding once again. This guy made some ridiculous saves to give his team a chance to win this game but he couldn’t make them all. Tied up 1-1 with under five minutes to play, Andrew Dommett came storming down the left wing side like sea biscuit, he made two moves and was in the Hounds zone when he slid a perfect pass in front to Calkins who bobbled the puck in front. The line though never gave up on the play and Adamyk worked it back to Flanagan on the left side point who was creeping down to the top of the circle. Flanny walked into it and buried a perfect shot past Russell Abbott which would turn out to be the game winning goal.

Braeden Adamyk would add the empty netter for the deal sealer with only four seconds left. Adamyk mentioned to me after the game that he had never scored an empty net goal in his entire hockey career.

This was a big game for the Klippers against the division rival Notre Dame Hounds. The Hounds are a team that works hard and still isn't out of the playoff hunt just yet but the Klippers made the gap that much bigger between the two clubs in the standings.

The Klippers closed off their 2010 road trip with success and that will be a ton to build on in the New Year. The Klippers will wrap up 2010 with two home games this weekend hosting the Flin Flon Bombers for back to back games.

I have a few interviews to get up and I will get those up shortly.

  2. Amen to that. Would sure be great to see the fans rally around the team and show them that we support them! The players want to hang a championship banner in the WCEC badly so why would the fans want anything different?
    GO KLIPPERS!
