8 Is Better Than 7 For The Klippers

First off before the game , we had some problems getting the video on the webcast up and running last night. I have no idea why as of yet , we set it up as we always would, but for some reason only audio was streaming and not the video. I apologize to the people who payed the $5 for the web cast and only got audio of the game. I will look into this and see what I can do.

Onto the game , the Klippers have now won 8 straight hockey games.

They came out flying in the first period lead by Braeden Adamyk who put the Klippers up 1-0 under five minutes in. Adamyk would tally again at the 14:02 mark on a nifty deak on a breakaway after Johnny Calkins sent him in alone. For Adamyk he had 2 or 3 really good chances at completing the natural hat trick near the end of the first and also early on in the second.

The natural hat trick bid was foiled when line mate Andrew Dommett would tap in an easy one after a beautiful pass from Kurt Leedahl , who wound up , faked the slap shot and then slide it right to Andrew Dommett who was wide open on the left side of the net. Sanfred King would pick up the second helper to extend his point streak to ten games. Sanfred King had the puck on a string all night long and likely should of had a few more points.

After Dommett's marker the Klippers offense somewhat quieted down , and the Hounds took advantage of it on a turnover that lead to an odd man rush the other way. Christian would score his 18th of the year after Richard Cameron made a nice pass across on the 2 on 1 , in the late stages of the frame.

The Hounds clearly got some life after that goal , and started to come hard at the Klippers in the third period. This is where the strong goaltending of Justin Macdonald came in. The Mac attack made some ridiculous saves in the third period to keep the Klippers up by two. McDonald has now won his last two games he has started in which both have been against the Hounds. Both Cahill and McDonald have been playing great for the Klippers giving them a very solid 1 , 2 punch.

As the horn went , some rough stuff went down after the game which resulted in Taylor Wasden recieving a ten minute game misconduct. I am pretty sure that resuls in Wasden getting a one game suspension. This is a big lose , as the fourth line on the Klippers has been creating a ton of energy game in and game out. Wasden and Down have been relentless on the forcheck off late and are creating chances and casuing a  ton of turnovers.

Speaking of loses , Jesse Mysiorek didn't dress tonight as he is day to day with a undisclosed injury. He will likely be back in the lineup on Saturday.

As for the Klippers to have won 8 in a row is very impressive. Some people appear to still be questioning this team as this point because during the streak they have not beaten a team like La Ronge , Yorkton or Melfort. In my mind it doesn't matter, to be a top team you need to win these games that the Klippers have been winning. One things for sure is that the Klippers weren't winning the games that they should have been earlier in the season and now are. Winning these games gives the Klippers confidence so that the next time they play one of the big dogs , they will feel they can beat them. I am very excited for Tuesday's game in Yorkton I expect it to be a great game.

I forgot my recorder at the radio station last night so I was not able to get any interviews. I know Lewis got a few that are up on his blog.

As for the trade deadline , its getting very close. What the Klippers will do is still up in the air, It sounds like Rockie Zinger has a potential deal on the back burner but has yet to pull the trigger. More will likely come and I would expect at least one move to be made , but I am not expecting anything drastic from the Klippers. We will have to wait and see, their will be much more on trades leading up to the deadline.
