Rockie Zinger Talks About This Weekends Summer Camp

The Klippers summer camp runs this weekend out in Saskatoon and you can find the schedule in my previous post below.

I plan on heading out to Saskatoon Saturday and Sunday to catch the round robin action and will have updates and recaps. Should be a fun weekend as the teams compete for the Kim Leonard Cup. I know alot of the players are really excited about getting back out on the ice, as is head coach Rockie Zinger.

I had a conversation with Rockie teeing up this weekend, you can listen below. Rockie also talks about filling the assistant and trainer jobs that are open and whats been going on in Klipper Land since he was offically named the head coach...

Rockie Zinger Interview

A few notes from the interview

- About 35-40 kids will be brought back for the main camp come September. No exact numbers just yet and his range could change after this weekends camp.

- Feels like the practices before the round robin games will help some of the young prospects calm their nerves.

- Even though this is a summer camp, Rockie expects all the players to compete at their highest level

- The Kim Leonard Cup will allow the players to compete for something which should add to competition at this weekends camp. He also says that Kim Leonard is going to be on hand for the tournament and makes a statement that if your going to play for the Klippers organization then your going to know who Kim Leonard is and what he is all about.

- Rockie sheds some light on last weeks league general meeting and other happenings from Klipper land.

More to come as the camp gets underway...
