3 Stars

1. Taylor Duzan (1991) -
The veteran fwd only skated once this weekend as he made his presence felt in the cup final. Although he played against kids of a much younger age, Duzan looked as if he was already in mid season form.

2. Taylor Murphy (1994) - The young skilled fwd was a stand out in the final. It seemed as if every time he touched the puck he made something happen. Very quick on his feet with a ton of skill. Needs to put on a bit of weight, but look for him to make a impact as I am sure he will be invited out to main camp.

3. Nolan Fuchs (1996) - Very young but oozing with talent. He was playing against kids alot older than him but he looked great out there. Scored two goals including a penalty shot in which he looked very comfortable walking in ripping a shot blocker side.

Weekend Recap :

It certainly felt great to get back out to the rink and mingle with a few of the guys. Overall it was a great weekend put on by the Klippers organization. The round robin tournament made for a ton of excitement and alot of intensity as the weekend progressed with the youngsters vying for the Kim Leonard cup.

In terms of the vets, only a few participated in the camp. Casey Rogers, Tanner Kissick, David Haaf, Justin Gerwing, and Zane Morin were the only regulars who took all the skates in camp. Taylor Duzan made a special appearance in the cup final.

Speaking of youngsters, I was amazed at all the talent on display. Over seventy kids were split up onto the four teams. Some of the kids were as young as 14. A few 1997 born players were taking part in the camp as well as some 1996's. I couldn't believe how good these kids were for their age. If I was that age going up against a bunch of 16,17,18 year old kids I would be petrified. One thing for sure is that if some of these kids do end up being Kindersley Klippers in the future, then fans are in for a treat.

In terms of the 1993, 1994 born players their is a large crop of them. It will be very tough to narrow it down to a final 23 along with all the players who were on the roster last season. Up front their is a log jam of talented fwds vying for one of those fwd spots on this club which should make for a very interesting main camp. Rockie certainly has options, as of right now he has 9 fwds likely returning and about 13 or 14 others who will deserve a long look at main camp.

I would love to dig deeper and break down some of these players chances of cracking a spot at this point but I feel it would be unfair. After all it was just a summer camp and more so a feel out process for most of the players who actually have a shot at cracking the club. It was more so a chance for the young prospects to show what they are made of and get their names into the mind of the Klippers brass for future years to come.

Like I mentioned their were over 70 kids out at the summer camp and Rockie Zinger eluded to the fact that they were only going to be bringing in about 36-40 kids to main camp. Having a small amount of kids will certainly intensify the camp process. I can't wait for camp to hit Kindersley at the end of August. It's always a very exciting time and this year especially with all the young talent on the Klippers. It appears that Kindersley will be a younger squad this season with a ton of talent.

Over the next few days I plan on breaking down the offeseason for the Kindersley Klippers. Their a few questions that need to be answered which includes who will be the captain of the Klippers team.

Now that summer camp has passed I want to get into a depth chart and break down who is in the mix at each position heading into main camp.

Also over the next couple days you can expect a Klippers announcement regarding a player signing they made over the weekend. Can't get into details yet but be on the lookout over the next couple days. For more from training camp you can listen to a few interviews with Rockie Zinger giving us a further look from camp.
