Klippers Hire Assistant Coach/Office Administrator and Athletic Therapist

This has been a very busy off season for the Kindersley Klippers. News appears to be dropping daily. After a lengthy search the Klippers have found the right fits for the organization. Here is the Rockie Zinger press release regarding the two new hires.

The Kindersley Junior Klippers are pleased to announce that they have concluded their search to fill the positions of Assistant Coach/Office Administrator and Head Athletic Therapist.

Coming on board in the dual capacity of Assistant Coach and Office Administrator will be Christopher Forsman. Chris is a native of Powell River, BC and he just concluded a four year hockey Scholarship with Canisius College in Buffalo, New York earning himself a degree with a Master of Sport Administration and Bachelor of Arts, History, Minor Business Administration.

Before his time playing Division I hockey, Chris played his junior with the Powell River Kings in the BCHL.

“With the direction that our organization is looking to move forward with, Chris was the obvious and perfect selection for our club. He will wear both hats but when you look at the track record it shows that it shouldn’t be any problem for him."

Said Klippers Head Coach Rockie Zinger.

“His knowledge of the game, work ethic, commitment, past accolades and experiences, and desire to want to be involved in the game would be an asset to any organization and we’re very pleased that it’s ours that he’s a part of.”

Filling the role of Athletic Therapist is Chantelle Touchette. Chantelle who is from Clive, Alberta, has her Athletic Therapy Certification from Mount Royal University to go along with her Bachelor of Physical Education degree from the University of Alberta and her General Kinesiology Diploma from Red Deer College.

“The credentials that Chantelle has speak for themselves. In a sport that is as physically demanding as hockey it’s imperative that a team has a therapist that can assess and rehabilitate players in the quickest way possible and Chantelle fills that description to a tee. Not only will she be an asset to the organization from an injury point of view, she will also be able to provide our players with individual workout programs to aid in their development as players.”

“We, as an organization couldn’t be happier about adding to quality individuals like Chris and Chantelle and we’re excited about them not only becoming a part of the Klippers but also the community of Kindersley. The professional manner in which both conduct business and knowledge they have in their respective fields will be a huge asset to our organization.” Zinger concludes.

Chris and Chantelle will be relocating to Kindersley on August 1, 2011.

The Klippers would like to thank out going Athletic Therapist Neal Bruetsch for his time and contributions to the organization and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

  2. why wasn't Trevor Weisgerber asked to be the assisted coach or did he decline the offer?

  3. Gerbs is still an assistant coach with the Moose Jaw Warriors. With all due respect to the Klippers, why would he go back to the SJ when he's coaching in the WHL. He enjoyed his time with the Klippers and the players liked him for sure but it just would not have been a good move for him. Maybe a head coach job in the SJ or AJHL but not as an assistant.

  4. Update on Gerbs, the Warriors did not exercise their option to retain him as an assistant coach for the 2011-2012 season. The Warriors are interested in keeping him within the organization in a different capacity and those discussions may take place in the future.
