Big Trade Brings Dane Muench To Kindersley

Have yet to get the official word from the Klippers side, but the deal is up on the BCHL website. I will likely chat with Rockie Zinger sometime tomorrow about the deal.

All three players that have been brought in for Sean Flanagan back in June have now been dealt back to the BCHL. It is clear by now that all three players were likely not going to report to Kindersley.

Mckissock was dealt to Chilliwack on Tuesday, and now TenVannholt and J.Elliot have been dealt to Vernon.

To Kindersley:
Dane Muench (92) FWD
Philip Patenaude (91) DEF
Futures

To Vernon:
Jarryd TenVannholt (91) FWD
Justin Elliot (92) DEF

From the BCHL website:

The Vernon Vipers Hockey Club transfers the playing rights of Dane Muench (92)(F), Philip Patenaude (91)(D) and future considerations to the Kindersley Klippers Hockey Club in exchange for the playing rights of Jarryd Ten Vannholt and Justin Elliot.

--

Muench from all reports is a tremendous talent. Being from Martensville he will be close to home and he is very familiar with the SJHL having spent two season with Battlefords.

The Flanagan trade now looks like this

Dane Muench, Philip Patenaude, Bradley Buckingham and future considerations

for

Sean Flanagan

More to come on the deal shortly

  1. Good Luck with Muench.... The kid is a complete Cancer.... And told Battlefords he would only report to the BCHL.. Good luck.. When he wants to play hes good, but i hardly doubt the Klippers will ever see him and if they do, his attitude is not what the Klippers need, trust me......

  2. Rockie Zinger=Fail.

Then again, these kids are smart enough to realize that scouts will actually watch them in the BCHL and not in the SJHL.

  3. Simple fact, if you're good enough, the scouts will find you. No easy path in hockey or life.

Rockie's hands were probably tied with the 3 original guys not wanting to move so he had to make another deal. Maybe the Klippers will make another deal now for a talented player that will WANT to be a Klipper and enjoy his time here. If a player doesn't want to play in Kindersley so be it. Give me 20 guys that think team first any day.

Hey Dane, you just might like it here!

  4. Scouts want to find you in places like Chilliwack, Canmore, Salmon Arm, Olds, etc. etc. etc. They don't want to find you in places like Kindersley, La Ronge and Nipawin. Those three are smart to get out while the gettin is good. There is no player in the SJ worth watching if I'm a scout right now and if so, I can't see them in Regina or Saskatoon or a short distance out.

I don't think this is too bad.....

  6. Would like to thank the head of Central Scouting for letting us know there isn't any talent in the SJ this year. Hope you feel better now that you just dumped on the players coming back to the Klippers this year. Good luck in Chilliwack, Canmore, Salmon Arm and Olds, please say hello to all the scouts for us!

  7. The SJ wants players playing NCAA Div 1 hockey. How many on this list are playing Div 1 hockey? Someone in this league better wake up and realize that US college scouts are looking at players in the US and not in Canada and that the time has come to focus on CIS schools. We had how many graduates and how many are playing for a Div 1 NCAA school. The answer is not many and hardly any when you compare it to the BC and AJ. I also see players not playing at CIS schools, but at schools like SAIT, Portage and Augustana. I don't agree with the controversial comment, but I don't disagree either. The focus of some in this league must change.

  8. If the truth be known the US colleges would probably prefer to have US born players taking up most of the scholarships available.

  9. Didn't Flanny say he wanted to leave because he wants to go to a div 1 school and he thought his opportunity was better by going to BC? That's what I was told. If that is the case, thats an indictment to this league. Our better players want to go elsewhere and the three guys that came here from Salmon Arm likely knew their chances of playing Div 1 hockey were greatly diminished by playing in Kindersley. There is some merit to what is being said here.

On a side note, Ullsy probably has more comments on this posting than he has on his entire blog.

  10. I thought he stated his reason for leaving was so he could experience being away from home because he's going to play NCAA hockey next year. Seemed to be a lot of talk last year that scouts had already identified him as a solid prospect. Gee, wonder what league they found him in? He was given an opportunity at 17 to play junior hockey and start showcasing his abilities.

Can we please focus on the players that will play in Kindersley this coming year! As fans I think we owe them that. It's like Fantuz, we miss him but let's move on!

  11. The ugly truth about the SJHL is getting exposed.

  12. To the last poster, can you please explain to us what exactly the the ugly truth is about the SJHL? Are you still harping about the scholarship thing or is there some other underlying issue here?

  13. Is there any team in the CFL more annoying than the Calgary Stampeders?

  14. A good step forward by the Klips signing education personnel to help players get ready for there SAT's hopefully plus the high school players. Get there act together before showcase so players are a few steps ahead before scouts show-up. Good Idea KLIPS.....
