Some Klipper news. The new assistant coach Chris Forsman has arrived in town and is already hard at work. Yesterday he sent me a press release regarding the Klippers from an educational standpoint. Below is that release. I hope to catch up with Chris sometime next week for an interview regarding his time so far in Kindersley and what he has planned for the upcoming season in his new role.

Kim Edegerton who works at Elizabeth Elementary School here in Kindersley has accepted the role as Education Consultant for the Kindersley Klippers. Kim who has been a long time educator will be responsible for monitoring our student-athletes’ academic progress. Kim is no stranger to the position as she has previously held it with the Klippers.

"Having Kim agree to come back on board is a huge positive for our organization; her familiarity with the Kindersley School System along with her knowledge of the SJHL and Post-Secondary requirements are a huge benefit for our players" Comments Klippers Coach Rockie Zinger.

Also, joining Kim on our academic support staff is the Vice Principal at Kindersley Composite High School, Dan Jewitt.

"Dan will act as a set of eyes and ears for the Klippers as well as a resource for the players as they acclimatize to their new surroundings in KCS. Having played in the SJHL we feel that Dan will be able to relate closely to what the players are going through."

The Klippers organization is excited to add an Education Consultant and High School Liaison to help our student-athletes reach their academic goals.

In some other Kindersley news The Edge Reality Royal Midget Girls Softball team is in action today out in Medicine Hat taking on the South Delta Invaders from B.C in their first game of the Western Canadian Championships. They have a second game this evening against Medicine Hat and will also play three games tomorrow. Kindersley went undefeated in provincial ball defeating Pilot Bute in the finals which is the second Saskatchewan team in the tournament. Kindersley also added three new players to their roster for Westerns and by the sounds of it they are very confident in themselves and believe they can bring the gold back to Kindersley. You can check out discoverkindersley.com or follow my twitter feed for up to dates scores from the tourney.

In the CFL, week six kicks off tonight. I have been picking at 75% for the past 4 weeks!!
Season Pick Record: 12 W 4 L (did not make picks in week 1)

Week 6:

MTL VS TOR - I know Montreal has struggled the past two weeks. I took them to lose against Hamilton last week but I do like them to rebound this week. There is no chance the Als loose three in a row especially against Toronto. Take Montreal.

EDM VS WIN - Who would have thought this would be the biggest game in the CFL up to this point in the season. The top team in the East takes on the top dog in the West. Buck Pierce says hes ready to go but you never know until you’re in a game situation. This game could go either way but I have to keep rolling with my Eskimos. I won't pick against them until they lose. Take Edmonton.

BC VS SK - Two teams who were supposed to be at the top of the West are fighting to stay out of last place in the West. B.C made a huge move yesterday bringing in Bruce but he is not expected to play this week. If he was playing I would have took B.C because a pass attack that will feature Geroy Simon and Bruce will be explosive. The Riders were able to win out on the road in Montreal and I think the road is the best thing for them right now. Playing in front of that Sask crowd with a lousy record adds alot of pressure. Take Saskatchewan on the road.

HAM VS CGY - The Stamps have looked better the past couple of weeks. They still have another level I think they can take their game to offensively and I think this is the week they do so. I think Hamilton is a great team but I gotta roll with the Stamps on home turf. Take Calgary.

  2. Dane Muench can be a game breaker when he wants to be. Hope he comes to play. He's played with some of the current Klippers so maybe he will feel good about coming back west!
