Klippers Acquire Dayton Reinboldt From Melville

Well alot of deals have been going down in the SJHL so far in the early stages of the off season. Humboldt and Melville have really bolstered their rosters via future considerations for their deals at last years trade deadline. All those deals can be viewed at the SJHL website.

Speaking of last years deadline the Kindersley Klippers made a deal at last years deadline that sent Michael Saegan off to Melville for future considerations. It was part of the 3 way deal with Battlefords and Melville that also sent Lance Tabin and Braeden Johnson to the Stars, leaving the Klippers with future considerations.

Rockie Zinger informed me today that the Klippers have acquired Dayton Reinboldt, a 1993 year born forward who spent time in Midget AAA with the Swift Current Legionnaires and also some time up with the Mills after the SJHL trade deadline.

Dayton registered 16G and 18A in 35 games with the Legionnaires last season and also played 9 games with Melville scoring 1G and 1A.

He is a smaller sized forward coming in at 5"10 and 170lbs. That was his weight last season which might have changed by now.

The native of Fox Valley Saskatchewan, spent some time playing minor hockey in the Kindersley area so fans may be familiar with him. He is expected to compete for a spot on this years team.

I hope to get into contact with Dayton over the next few days and find out a bit more info. For now that is all I got.

Alot of people have been asking me what is wrong with the Klipper website, to be honest I am not sure and neither to the Klippers. They are working on the problem and hope to get it up and running asap. More to come as the Klipper off season continues.

In non related Klipper news, I am planning on catching up with Jesse Ismond a Kindersley native who just recently took home the WHL player of the week and also a WHL championship with the Kootenay Ice.

Ismond picked up seven points, scoring three goals and four assists in three games this past week to help the Kootenay Ice capture the 2011 WHL Championship crown over the Portland Winterhawks.

Not a bad week for the 20 year old. Ismond and the Ice will now head to Missisauga Ontario for the Memorial Cup Tournament which get going this Friday. If I get a hold of him I will post up that interview.
